Generally yes! Please check with your local tax codes as many countries offer substantive e-Bike Rebates and tax incentives. If you have trouble finding them, please use the contact form and one of our customer service representatives will reach out to help. Most countries have tax incentives and rebates for lowering GHG emissions.
Veemo will be offering test rides during an upcoming Global tour starting in Q4, 2021. To be notified and help us for our proposed tour dates, click here.
Aside from travelling to a city, Veemo is creating an innovative virtual test ride video. Even if you can’t test ride in person, you’ll get insight into what we are all about from our virtual POV test ride.
Yes. Veemo is a zero-emissions electric vehicle and has an almost infinitely lower GHG footprint than any internal combustion engine (ICE) powered vehicle when charged from renewable electrical sources such as hydro-electric, solar or wind.
There are many free online resources, such as Co2 Calculator. Veemo’s CEO - David Watson (yes the guys who jumped the Tour de France) estimated that he commutes 3000 Kilometers a year for work to and from the office. Based on his vehicle efficiency, commuting via a Veemo would reduce his carbon footprint by 0.82 tonnes of CO2 annually. This is significant. If you drive the average of 20,000km per year.
Veemo is an innovation in zero emissions micro-mobility that can play a significant role in helping us fight climate change. Change will come as we increase the numbers of adopters to alternative electric vehicles (cars, micro-mobility, motor bikes, etc.) in place of internal combustion engine (ICE) powered vehicles on the roads Worldwide.
Starting in the 1950’s Carbon Dioxide levels in the Earths’ atmosphere have risen rapidly. The graph looks like a hockey stick.
One of the most important actions any individual can take is to get informed. For people who still do not believe we are in a crisis, please consider watching Breaking Boundaries where David Attenborough and scientist Johan Rockström examine Earth's biodiversity collapse and how this crisis can still be averted.
Facts are facts! Making sustainable mobility choices in your life, like Veemo or other zero emission micro-mobility vehicles, is the most significant contribution any individual can make to help reduce their own Greenhouse Gas footprint. We can collectively help humanity and save our planet while averting the imminent collapse of earth's biodiversity system.
Joining Veemo’s zero emissions movement will help Humanity collectively phase out fossil fuels, push for regulatory change, and enable us to reach the Paris accord targets which help bend the Global CO2 curve. Side benefits? You will probably get to work faster and remain healthier.
Keep a watchful eye for when we launch this campaign and simply sign up and wait. Good luck.
Veemo will go approximately 70 kilometres on a single charge, depending on the terrain, the percentage of power you use from the motor and the gross weight of the vehicle (including rider and cargo). The battery is swappable, so carrying an extra fully charged battery can extend the range.
A single stock battery can be charged from normal household outlets in approximately five hours.
Veemo is about 2.0 meters long, 0.89 meters wide, and 1.5 meters high (about 79” X 35” X 59”). Veemo weighs 62 Kilograms (dry weight, without battery) and the maximum gross vehicle weight allows up to 110 kg (242 pounds) of rider and cargo in addition to the vehicle weight of 63 kilograms (74 kg. with battery)
Yes, Veemo fits through a standard 36” wide door.
No, Veemo is a one person velomobile.
There are several different electric motors available for Veemo. 250W is used in the UK and EU, 500W in Canada and 750W in the US. Please select the right motor for your region.
Veemo uses a mid electric motor, a custom belt drive, and a continuous variable transmission (CVT) made by Nuvinci (Enviolo). The rest of the drivetrain involves custom components including our proprietary belt drive system (like some high end motorcycles use except lighter) to avoid the noise and oil associated with using chains.
Veemo has a throttle, which operates as allowed by local regulations as a class 2 e-Bike in the United States and meets various other regulations.
Yes, Veemo is developing an “owner app” that will be downloadable from app stores to provide additional functionality for users.
Yes, Veemo has headlights and tail lights.
Veemo uses state of the art front and rear hydraulic brakes with dual piston calipers.
As fast as you can pedal however the maximum assisted speed of Veemo is limited to comply with multiple regulations. In the United Kingdom (UK) and European Union (EU), the maximum speed for (EN15194) regulations is 25 km/h. Canada and United States regulations cap the speed at 20 MPH (32 km/h). The EU offers another class (L2e-A) which allows more power and speed.
Veemo utilizes standard 20” wheels (standard BMX Tires fit) and offers more special purpose tire selections at purchase. Replacement tubes and tires are easy to procure and purchase if a different tread design is sought.
Veemo’s wheels are a combination of molded composite wheels (front) and conventional spoke designs (rear). The wheels are built to our specifications to handle the additional loads of a heavier vehicle with plenty of torque and hydraulic brakes.
Veemo’s maximum ride height above the frame when under sag sits safely higher than a recumbent style vehicle at 1524 mm making its presence much more visible to traffic and pedestrians. The undercarriage of Veemo under sag sits 140mm off plumb ground providing optimal clearance for urban mobility.
The rear shock has fully adjustable rebound damping as well as adjustable preload. Dampening is set at the factory. The rear shock’s coil over includes a preload dial to increase and decrease coil over preload values for micro fine tuning. The standard dual front suspension is set at the factory and is not tunable.
The frame is made of high strength aluminum, offering a stiff and lightweight chassis for optimal handling and power transfer.
The proprietary enclosures are Thermo molded fascia for the roof and enclosures.
Yes, if you own a regular pick up truck. Just roll it in. We are also developing a car rack specifically for Veemo.
The cargo area is 60 litres behind the single rider seat, and with upgrades of dual cargo hooks can add an additional 24 litres or approximately 2 regular grocery bags of cargo.
Veemo has a front fold down unit that will add further cargo capacity on the exterior of the ePod, but will affect max torque as overall weight nears maximum load values for motor output.
The experienced Veemo team is working on IOT capabilities for future models.
Assembly and Maintenance
We can ship your Veemo to your home or a bike shop of your choice. For special shipping arrangement requests, please use our contact form.
Veemo requires the same basic maintenance as most eBikes, with the exceptions for major improvements like our EcoDrive (™) drive system that uses a belt instead of chains that leak oil into the ocean and our food chain. Veemo’s manuals describe basic user maintenance with videos to assist. Basic safety items like tire pressure, inspection, brake inspections, suspension tuning and battery charging are all fairly standard and easy for any user to do on their own.
Most maintenance can be done at home by yourself or at Bicycle stores via a standard mechanic or certified technician for any maintenance you do not feel 100% comfortable conducting yourself. We have designed every single aspect of Veemo for maximum riding and the least amount of maintenance. Regardless, rider safety is our top concern. At any time, you can use the contact form to ask us questions if you are unsure.
Veemo Warranty and Guarantee
When you purchase your bike from Veemo you are covered by an extended manufacturers' warranty and guarantee. This is in addition to a legally required warranty (please check your region for any requirements).
Yes, Veemo uses many standard bike parts. Most of these can be purchase from your local bike store. All other parts are available directly from Veemo. Use the contact form to make any request.
Comfort and Safety
With most rain, Veemo will keep you dry and will generally outperform any regular eBike in this category. We have tested Veemo in the beautifully soggy Pacific Northwest of North America. If rain is approaching sideways in a strong crosswind, you may experience some moisture. Regardless of the weather, Veemo will keep you drier than any other zero-emissions vehicle we have tested.
Veemo has no heater yet is semi-enclosed so it protects riders from immediate wind-chill effects. By design, the front fascia efficiently deflects air around the vehicle, keeping the rider sheltered from the environment. Always dress appropriately for any cold weather.
Veemo is designed for maximum safety and stability. One of the most important safety advantages Veemo offers is dual front wheels. Two wheeled vehicles are in danger of slipping out when the front wheel hits a painted road surface in wet weather. Veemo and other three wheeled vehicles have two wheels meaning loss of control due to slippage is greatly reduced.
Veemo has been tested with various camber and castor settings to find the perfect blend of efficiency and safety. Every vehicle is factory set with toe in and other adjustments made for maximum safety and performance (too much toe in creates “tire Scrub” which can limit power transfer).
As with any vehicle, Veemo needs to be approached with common sense and caution. Always ride without your experience level and be careful to avoid unnecessary risks, especially in traffic.
Yes! The seat can easily be moved backwards and forwards to allow for different sizes of riders. The cockpit is designed to fit riders up to 6’3 tall, yet taller riders may still adapt. Handlebar position is also adjustable.
Veemo is designed to fit riders from 5’0 to 6’3 and up to 110 kilograms (242 lbs). Veemo is gender neutral and the seat and positioning allow for a wide range of driver configurations based on personal preferences. The maximum capacity safely allows up to 110Kg (242 pounds) of rider and cargo in addition to the base vehicle weight.
If used in accordance with the operators instructions manual, Veemo is capable of climbing hills up to a 16 percent grade. Descending a hill, like any freewheel vehicle will accelerate uninhibited with gravity relative to the road steepness in excess of the permissible speed limit. A rider must use caution, maintain control, and navigate hazardous situations at all times in line with cycling culture, the terrain, weather, and law for safe usability.
Veemo has a clever electronic parking brake in conjunction with locking it up in the same way you would a bicycle. We recommend a kryptonite or equivalent U lock, and or Chain.
The battery can be easily removed from the frame by turning the key in the lock and lifting it free. The battery has a handle for easy carrying. A charger is included with each Veemo purchase with plugs adapted for the country of use. We recommend you don't leave the battery with the bike when the bike is out of sight, as they are expensive to replace.
We are not aware of any bike lane restrictions, so most countries allow 0.85M class 2 ebikes to be ridden in bike lanes along with two wheeled eBikes and other micro-mobility vehicles. Unlike four wheeled velomobiles, Veemo is technically considered a bicycle. We do recommend checking with your local regulations to confirm.
The maximum assisted speed of Veemo is limited to comply with local regulations. In the UK and EU, the maximum assisted speed is 25 km/h, in Canada it is 32 km/h and in the U.S. it’s 20mph. Powered by a rider of gravity, only posted speed limits apply.
No, we are not aware of any countries that require insurance and registration for Veemo. We have designed Veemo to be in compliance with the regulations that allow exemptions from these requirements.
We are also not aware of any regions that require a license to operate Veemo under normal conditions. Please confirm local regulations in your region of intended use for all these requirements.
